We have been using this litter box for our two cats for about a month now. This has added so much value to our cleaning regime. There are some reviews out that say this thing doesn’t work, but from our experience as long as you are patient and slow when rolling, it works like a charm. This box makes it so much easier that getting out a scooper especially with two cats who use the litter often. I think that this box may be difficult if you do not use clumping litter, but I assume that’s a given. Only downside is that the box is so big, but for two cats (and if you have the space) it is perfect. After buying this type of litter box, we will never go back!!Pro: Assembly was easy parts fit together well and did not slip apart. Seems well designed for what it does.Con: I used the box for a week for my two cats. It’s now out in my shed. I clean the cats’ box daily. The clumps that stick to the bottom of the pan still need to be scooped out. Because of this, there are a lot of small pieces that go right through the screen and back into the litter area. I noticed much more odor using this box than with an open box. It did not cut down on having to scoop. When I cleaned it out before discontinuing use, I was very glad I was using a hose in my backyard to wash it out since there were a few places that needed high pressure washing. Not a fan-I don’t like to scoop poop (especially when there’s a lot) because I don’t like to see it or smell it for a long period of time. With this, I just flip it on its side and all the poop gets captured in one flip.I've been a cat mom for more than 50 years. Litter boxes?...I've tried them all. THIS one is, by far, the EASIEST to clean up after (especially in my older/disabled years). Everything is contained within, so no scratching on the walls, etc., and there's plenty of privacy for my fur babies. The ONLY draw-back is that the inner grate is prone to cracking on SOME units.Easy to clean and keeps the scent downit's good. I love the thing, making clean up so easy !!! However, I would have love it more if there are like more of the buckle thingy to really secure the top from the bottom. And to top it off, maybe even the handle to lift up, but that might get in the way of the rolling, but who knows your awesome team of creator and inventor can make it happen for new edition haha...Thanks for the awesome product !!!It's better than scoping but still has flaws. The litter will come out of the side or opening. The cats will still drag out litter.Look, it's not perfect. The clasps could be stronger, but it's so much better than scooping. I will duct tape the lid on before I go back to the old litter box.Where do I start, this is possibly the worst purchase of a gadget I have ever made and being a bit of a gadget freak, I have bought many useless gadgets over the years, but this is by far my worst. Before I saw this I used wood litter, every morning using the scoop to take out the solids, and giving it a complete empty and wash on the 3rd day, a 2 min job each morning and around 15 mins every 3rd day, no one enjoys poopie scooping, so like other cat lovers I wasn't keen to do this, although only a 2 min job, I really hated it, so when I saw this I was pretty excited and purchased. I also got a bag of catsan clumping litter, never been a fan of clumping, but hey it says it needs to be clumping, so I spent double what I usually spend on my wood litter, but thought it would be worth the extra, to avoid the poopie scooping, I set it all up with a few issues as it is really badly designed, the drawer doesn't fit well the clips kept popping out, but I persevered and eventally had it all filled with the amount of recommended cat litter, my cat took to it with no problem, which was a good sign, I done the roll over and yep the clumps went into the drawer, I looked in and it had missed a clump, but no big deal, it would catch it next time, next day much about the same, hoping I would get a bit more use than my usual 3rd day full clean, but decided to open it to check, it was pretty disgusting with large clumps all stuck to the grating and to the bottom of the tray, so I still had to do a full clean up, however my usual 15 min job turned into over an hour, the tray is too bit to tip into an average size black bin bag, so I had to use my dust pan to scoop out the litter and tranfer it into the bag, then due to the clumps stuck to the bottom, I hunted for a wall paper scrapper, found one and hacked off the clumps with this again tranfering into the bag, having no one around to hold the bag open and not very easy to do on your own I ended up with lots of litter over the floor, so out comes my brush but my dust pan is thick with clumps of poop and litter stuck to it, so I then wash with some bleach, making a mess of my bathroom sink, then I am now able to sweep the floor, now its time to clean the tray, I decided to blast it with water in the bath, but the tray is too big to fit in the bath, so I am now twisting and turning it under the blasting tap, result I'm soaked, the bath now has litter and goodness knows what else floating in it, I now need to try and carefully lift it over to the toilet to pour down the dirty water, again with the large size half goes into the toilet the other half over the floor and my feet, now there's the grating, how on earth as I going to clean this, I tried to scrape inbetween the slats with an old tooth brush, but this was a long process, then I eventually had to blast this too in the bath. All done now the litter tray is clean but my bathroom is a total mess, so now I have to clean this too, an hour and a half later, I'm exhausted and still soaked with the water, my hairs a mess and I'm already over an hour late for work, but I can't go to work soaked and no doubt stinking of cat pee, so I have to have another shower, eventually arriving 2 hrs late for work (losing 2 hrs pay) and totally stressed and exhausted. So please think very carefully before you buy this, it's not only the cat loo you have to clean, it's your own loo and yourself, I have gone back to my old tray and wood litter, now I actually realise how easy a normal litter is, and don't even mind the 2 min poopie scooping now. I have one small indoor kitty, but at least she appeared to enjoy watching the show. I wish I had took a video to show you what a complete disaster this cat tray is.We decided to try this after our Litter Robot II broke after years of great service. This used a similar "turning" principle and is so much cheaper. Sadly we found it very bulky, made from cheap plastic with clips that loosened or came undone spilling fouled litter on a few occasions onto the carpet when turning the box over. We also found that urine clumped litter stuck to the bottom. So sadly after using for a few months we ordered a new Litter Robot III and once again that is doing a great job.I love the theory around your litter box but I can't seem to make it work.I have had it for three weeks now. I get soiled claggy clay fullers earth litter stuck on the roof, it falls out of the door when I roll it over and it clings to the base box so persistently that I have to take it apart and scrape it with the ye olde traditional scoop. I tried upgrading to 4x the cost super absorbent fine clumping litter to attempt to fix the problem. This was worse, my cat peed through the grate and solidified the expensive litter so that I had to chisel it out of the grate with a flat head screw driver (see pictures: the picture of the tray shows the clips that the grate fits into and therefore the pee is on both sides and therefore could never "self clean").I have taken it apart and cleaned it fully 4 times. I have checked and re-checked I'm constructing it correctly.I love the idea but unless I'm really using the wrong clumping cat litter, I'm afraid it just doesn't work as a "self cleaning" litter box. I did not expect a miracle but less work to maintain a clean litter tray rather than more would have been nice. Please advise me if there is a "better" clumping cat litter that fits the design of this tray:My normal litter is Coshida from Lidl and the upgraded one is pets at home ultra performance. This is so much better than my previous trays, it's alot easier to clean and my cat loves the extra space.I haven't noticed litter coming out from the draw as other reviewers have mentioned but this could be due to overfilling. The only problem I have is that some of the smaller waste nuggets get stuck in the slats where the litter goes through but a couple of taps on the bottom soon fixed this.I love this. We have upgraded from the medium size which we loved and it is so so much better. I wish we had got this size to start with. You have to be careful not to over fill it and also to choose a lightweight clumping litter. The best one we've found was felight but we've switched to corn based ones and are getting on just great. It is big but we keep it under the stairs so don't mind that. When you turn it give the bottom and sides a good slap and make sure to keep it topped up with litter.
